The ProFlu+ assay's sensitivity, specificity and reliability make it the respiratory virus test of choice. ProFlu+ is so senstive that the FDA does not recommend backup culture for influenza testing. Studies have shown that it correctly identifies samples containing 2009 H1N1 virus as Influenza A. With the ProFlu+ assay, you can be confident that a negative Influenza A result is highly likely to be truly negative. Culture backup is recommended for RSV.

The ProFlu+ assay uses proven real-time PCR technology, ensuring that accurate test results are delivered quickly and easily. The test's compatibility with automated nucleic-acid extraction technology minimizes hands-on time and expedites results. All the reagents you need, except water, are included in the kit.
Easy to use and implement in the lab
Designed to run on standard molecular diagnostic equipment, the ProFlu+ assay has a simple workflow that makes it easy to implement and validate. A common RNA Internal Control allows a single nucleic-acid extract to be used in any combination of Prodesse's respiratory RNA virus Assays.

The ProFlu+ assay was cleared for In Vitro Diagnostic Use by the FDA in 2008 and is licensed by Health Canada. The ProFlu+ assay is CE marked for In Vitro Diagnostic Use.

The ProFlu+ assay is an upgraded version of Prodesse's highly regarded ProFlu-1™, which has been discontinued from sale. Papers for the ProFlu+ assay are not yet available, but quite a few (listed below) have been published for ProFlu-1.
