Prodesse Pro hMPV+ Assay

Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV)
Discovered in 2001 by Dutch researchers, hMPV causes symptoms similar to RSV and many other respiratory viruses. It was originally considered primarily a pediatric pathogen, but studies have now shown it occurs in all ages. Particularly at risk are pediatric, elderly and immunocompromised patients. It is responsible for a significant portion of the children hospitalized every year for bronchiolitis.

The Pro hMPV+ assay offers laboratories, clinicians and their patients an important tool for in the diagnosis and differentiation of viral respiratory disease.

Results in as little as 4 hours
Like all of the Prodesse product line, the Pro hMPV+ assay uses proven real-time PCR technology, ensuring that accurate test results are delivered quickly and easily. The test's compatibility with automated nucleic-acid extraction technology minimizes hands-on time and expedites results. All the reagents you need, except water, are included in the kit.

Easy to use and implement in the lab
Designed to run on standard molecular diagnostic equipment, the Pro hMPV+ assay has a simple workflow that makes it easy to implement and validate. A common RNA Internal Control allows a single nucleic-acid extract to be used in any combination of Prodesse's respiratory RNA virus Assays.

The Pro hMPV+ assay was cleared for In Vitro Diagnostic Use by the FDA in 2008 and is licensed by Health Canada. The Pro hMPV+ test is CE marked for In Vitro Diagnostic Use.
