Community Relations

As a leading healthcare company and employer in San Diego, Gen-Probe believes it is important to give back to the communities in which its employees live and work. In general, the Company supports local non-profit groups striving to improve the quality of:

  • Healthcare, especially in areas of corporate interest such as infectious disease, oncology and genetic testing.
  • Education, especially in the fields of math, science and engineering.
  • Economic development and growth.

For example, Gen-Probe's largest community partnership is with the Preuss School UCSD http://preuss.ucsd.edu/. The Preuss School is a middle and high school dedicated to providing an intensive college prep education for motivated low-income students who will become the first in their families to graduate from college. Gen-Probe has made a long-term financial commitment to the school, provides volunteer tutors, mentors and science fair judges, and hosts an annual open house for students and parents, among other activities.

If you would like more information about Gen-Probe's community relations programs, or would like to submit a request for support, email communityrelations@gen-probe.com.
